LUNAR NEW YEAR On Disney+
Multi-IP Campaign | Asia-Pacific Regions
In late 2024 I began working with Disney’s Asia Pacific Marketing Design Team (“APAC”) to design key art for a Lunar New Year 4-IP campaign.
2025 is the year of the snake. The art had to combine the Lunar New Year aesthetic (for China: lanterns, red and gold accents, etc.) with Disney+ branding.
I designed a modular snake that could be rearranged to fit various aspect ratios, something that has frustrated me about much of the key art I’ve had to version out. The signature “Aurora” background made up the snake fill as well as the background. The scaled pattern and the forked tongue are the Disney “+”. I built four different lanterns to hold each IP. They are based on the holding shape modeled after the “+”, and feature a subtle red stroke, two gold colors, and small light flares.
THE CW NETWORK At San Diego Comic-Con
Digital + Print
The CW Network runs a robust campaign to announce its presence at San Diego Comic-Con™.
I was tasked with creating key art in the style of text-forward murals like that of Dabs Myla. The art had to represent more than half the broadcast slate, including DC properties like The Flash; fan-favorites like Supernatural and Riverdale; and newcomers like Nancy Drew. The majority of the shows were comics IP so I referenced early comic books with bold black linework, saturated colors, and halftone accents.
The art was built to be modular; all the icons could be assembled into a mural, or applied to social posts and ads for their respective shows.
PETE HOLMES
“Silly Silly Fun Boy” Comedy Tour
PRINT + DIGITAL PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
Pete wanted an isometric design with illustrated elements from jokes in his routine. Some of the references were specific (pig with paws, pug with hooves), others were interpretive (“dumb fish”).
The design was used for digital ads and was formatted onto a variety of merch on Holmes’ teespring site.
THE NERDIST PODCAST San Diego Comic-Con™ Live Stream Stage Set
AWARENESS + ENGAGEMENT | Production Design
The Nerdist Podcast (Chris Hardwick, Jonah Ray) partnered with NVIDIA and XBOX to create an installation on-site in San Diego for recordings with a live audience.
I built a 3D model prominently featuring branding elements of both Nerdist (red and yellow, Helvetica, the laser-safety mark), and XBOX (black and lime, the newest console and controllers); with an acoustic foam accent wall to give audiences the feeling of being brought behind the scenes.
The set doubles as a space for traditional talk-show segments, as well as gaming and group-watching.
